Inspired by todays best post in Eve Online General Forum by DubanFP.
Ok, taking a break from the trip down memory lane, I think I’ll talk about one of my pet peewees. I seriously hate it when people do not fit to match the boni of the ship…
If you want to fit jammers, fly a griffin, blackbird, scorpion, falcon or kitsune. DON’T FLY A FREAKING MERLIN!!!
If you want to use lasers, fly Amarr ships with bonus to them!
And if you want to do PVP… don’t fly a freaking mining ship.
Oh, and don’t expect a girl to fit modules to match in color just because she is a girl. About 99.99% of us females actually think. Those who want to play dress-up and color co-ordinate are more likely to go with World of Warcraft than with Eve.
Although… I do take a lot of time making a new character, even for the lowliest alt, because I want the face, the background and the light to be just right…
ROFL!! I take a long time with character creation too…and it just pisses me OFF when the stupid software times out during that activity. Dunno if it still does that, but it sure used to. All my creative effort … GONE! Waaaaaahhh….hafta start over…wahhhhhh!
I would like to be able to customize my ship, although I suspect letting folks do that would be quite the hit on the servers. But…imagine how fun it could be if we could put custom “bumper stickers” on our ships! A whole new market of selling ad space might arise! Or we’d all die a lot more because we were busy trying to see what the bumper stickers said rather than focusing on the action in a fight. LOLs!
One of my friends in Eve makes (pretend!!!) hull covers in different colors. Yes, she is a RL female…
I was blown apart by a medium sized gate camp the other day in 0.0 I of course got out with my pod, but at the same time I thought the rest of the night how I could have surprised the campers with a slightly different setup. One odd module here or there could have turned the tide, weather it was ECM against them or even smart bombs for their drones.
I agree, work your bonuses, but don’t leave out all the surprises.
In principle, you are right – surprise has its moments. In reality, any good camp will get you…
Not that I really like camping, but it is lazy PVP and can be done with a glass of cider and a nice chat going on on Ventrilo.
